Hotelier members terms of business
Your entry on the site consists of an original, published review, along with news, offers and promotions. All your information can be updated, giving you the opportunity to explain any improvements or changes that have been made.
THE BENEFITS• The website has a user-friendly keyword search facility. The search facility enables visitors to find hotels, restaurants with rooms, inns and B & Bs that offer particular qualities and benefits for instance dogs welcome, vegetarian menu, near coast, mountain walking nearby, country house hotel, inexpensive, rail access etc etc.
• Searchers will be able to find your hotel by entering, apart from the obvious name, location etc, any specialities you have told us about.
• Special offers you may want to promote, will be shown in detail on the website and linked to your own page entry.
• Documents for downloading, such as promotional brochures for ‘New Year Breaks’ can be attached to your page, ready to be downloaded by readers.
• Three or more new blogs are written each week relating to your industry, highlighting controversies and concerns of the day, profiles or interviews with our hoteliers and travelogues. In short, we give people more reasons than merely identifying a hotel to browse the site. You are encouraged to contribute and participate.
• We have created many more spaces for images, still and moving wherever appropriate. You will be encouraged to send us, whenever you have them, good quality, high res. photographs. There is an unlimited upload service for the information you send us - your promotions, news, images etc and this is normally uploaded and live on your pages on our site within 24 hours, ensuring content is relevant and up-to-the-minute.
PADDYBURT.COM AND THE PUBLIC
• We send out a weekly e-newsletter highlighting the news, promotions with direct links to your pages on the website. This is emailed to over 6000 registered users.
• We email you once a week to remind you to send us news and offer items whenever you have them but we also go through your website and pick out and load items we think should be listed.
• We write and edit items to make them as attractive as possible. If we think something is ambiguous, we phone the hotel, clear the ambiguity and re-write it.
• By adding our logo and link to your homepage, with the legend ‘click here to see our very latest special offers’ the reader will be directed to the ‘news and special offers’ listing only for your hotel. That means you can e-mail us a last minute cancellation/vacancy which we will guarantee to put up early on the next working day.
• The website is updated daily with the new information you send us. We normally have new information live on the website on the same day.
• Journalists are emailed every week with items contained in our newsletter, including news and promotions that we believe woiuld be if interest to the media.
RESPONSIBLE AND ETHICAL
• Our editorial policy remains that to be listed you must have an independent verifiable review from a recognised journalist and medium. We will happily use a review of your choice, but permission from the media/journalist will be required. If there is not an independent published review available, in the normal course of events we would arrange for a new review from a freelance journalist to be done incognito (we would arrange for the freelance journalist to stay and would expect to be re-imbursed after the event).
• We have listened to what our clients have told us about the difficulties of balancing cashflow and, as a result have introduced a simple system where you pay a monthly subscription as opposed to an annual lump sum.
ALL WE ASK YOU TO DO
Once you have decided to join us (let us know by email or phone), provide us with the journalist review you wish to use and high resolution images for inclusion on your listing, and leave the rest to us.
If, when you see your entry we have got something wrong, please phone or email us so that we can correct it. We send you an email every week to remind you to send us news and details of any special offers. If you have got news etc, don’t wait to be asked, send it. And send us photographs, particularly high res. ones.
OUR COSTS AND SERVICES
A: Website inclusion only
Your entry on our site will consist of: (this is the minimum requirement.)
• Your own unique web pages.
• A published review by a journalist.
• A paddyburt.com editorial update if required in the ‘And Now’ section.
• Up to three images.
• Full contact details including your own web, telephone and email links.
• The cost includes any minor changes, such as updating photographs, changing the name of a key member of staff or showing an increase in the number of rooms.
Our charge for this service is £18+ VAT per month.
B: Unlimited website updates and weekly e-newsletter services
• Unlimited updating of the ‘And Now’ section.
• Inclusion of the ‘Hotel News and Offers’ facility in your web pages. This is intended for such things as ‘special offers; three nights for the price of two; valid until the end of this month’ etc.
• Inclusion in our weekly e-newletter to over 7000 subscribers.
• All information you send is included in you own entry, flagged and linked into our promotional panels on the website.
• No restriction on changes to information or number of photographs you can send us.
Our additional charge for this is £20 + VAT per month.
C: Promotion to The Press
We maintain a long press mailing list to which we send frequent press releases. This service provides you with:
• Inclusion in our press release, so tell us about the refurbishment of bedrooms, a new chef , any awards etc etc
• The number of items you send us is unlimited. We do however reserve the right to advise you if we think something you submit is not suitable for this purpose.
This service will be provided free until further notice.
You can select:
• A [this is the minimum]
• or A+B,
• or A+C
• or A+B+C.
There is a one-off set up charge of £75 + VAT, (payable in advance) for loading your data and photographs onto our website.
HOW TO PAY
Monthly services are to be paid by Standing Order.
The minimum initial commitment is six months.
If you join us, we will send you a STANDING ORDER MANDATE
Please check that the details on it are correct, then:-
either
Print the Standing Order, complete and send to your Bank
or
Instruct your Bank online, using the details on the Standing Order .
then e mail a copy of the standing order mandate back to us as your confirmation.
A VAT invoice/receipt will be e mailed to you every month.
Payment details for Initial set-up charge
You will be sent a separate invoice for the one off setup charge. This may be paid by cheque but we would prefer online payment - paddyburt.com bank details will be on the invoice.
VAT will be charged at the current rate.
If you would like to add or subtract services, please e mail us giving a month’s notice of your intention.
