Tempted by palm trees and sunshine abroad, at knock-down prices, for years many of us have relegated holidaying in the UK to weekends and short breaks. We think that's a shame - as, along the way, we've lost sight of the endless things to see and to do right here, at home.
For this reason (along with the fact that many of us credit-crunched lot are now having to holiday closer to home), we are compiling our very own guide to Best of Britain – a personal, been-there-done-that, inspiring guide to each of the nine regions as defined on the map, right. What makes our guides unique, is the personal touch (just as with the rest of the site).
Each regional guide will be made up from insider tips from people who’ve been to the places – rather than plucked from a tourist board’s website. If you’d like to contribute your UK travel tips, please get in touch. Alternatively, we’re happy to answer queries about what to do in specific regions – so send us those too.
